Xiaomi Mi5C is a product failure?

Xiaomi Mi5C is a product failure?

Let's talk about xiaomi mi5c, the first xiaomi's phone that uses pinecone s1 surge chipset, s1 surge is a chipset that's made internally by xiaomi, just like kirin for huawei, exynos by samsung and a-series chipset for apple iphone.

Basically xiaomi is joining the other three smartphone manufacture (huawei, samsung, apple) that can developed their own chipset. Unfortunately the s1 surge chipset does not perform very well on xiaomi mi5c.

On paper, the s1 surge is claim to be energy efficient while still deliver high performance experience, but that's not the case, xiaomi mi5c is a power hungry smartphone and the performance is mediocre.

The battery life on xiaomi mi5c is very bad, in my experience after full charge in the morning, the phone barely make it through evening, even when you just use the phone for normal activity like social media and no gaming at all.

Even worse, the phone has serious heat issue, so not only the battery life is poor, the phone also suffer from over heating, i believe this because of the s1 surge chipset. If mi5c is using snapdragon these issues won't be happening.

Clearly xiaomi mi5c is product failure from xiaomi, i think xiaomi should stop making their own chipset, they should stick with qualcomm snapdragon for every phone they make, forget about s1 surge and don't even think to make s2 surge, they are terrible.
